At Greenacre Church of Christ we believe that God has placed us in the midst of the Bankstown region for a purpose. With a changing population mix and a heart to reach the community with the gospel, the church began a number of years ago to minister cross-culturally. This resulted in a number of new ministries – English Classes and Korean congregation. After a number of years of prayer, God showed us that the time is right for us to plant an Arabic focused congregation – leading us to George Habib to plant this ministry.
Introducing: George Habib
George was born in Beirut, Lebanon. He is married and has 2 children. George grew up within a religious traditional church but always had many unanswered questions. George was introduced to having a personal relationship with Jesus through his uncle who was visiting Lebanon, since then his life has never been the same. George has been involved for many years in sales engineering and the security industry. In 1997 George and his family moved from Lebanon to Australia and became involved in ministry in the Sutherland Shire. In 1999 George felt the call of God on his life to full time ministry, closing his business and going to Bible college to be trained.
George has the heart of a pastor and the zeal of an evangelist. He has been called to share the good news of Jesus with Arabs primarily, and build a congregation as part of Greenacre Church of Christ; however, he will never be hindered in who he shares Jesus with, either will the church. George has a hunger to help churches come together into greater unity in Christ .
