Wellspring Christian Church

Wellspring Christian Church is a member of Churches
of Christ in NSW and Australia. However, instead of having the traditional church structure, we believe that God has called us to be an effective ministry in serving the community in which we live. We do not hold the traditional services of other churches, except to have a celebration service held on the last Tuesday evening of every month at Illawong Uniting Church in Sydney, Australia. We also hold several bible studies throughout the week which we call cell groups and are open to any who wish to attend. One does not need to a "Christian" to attend.

Our goals are making our presence known in community activity. We seek to serve and to bless our community in whatever way the Lord shows us what He is doing. At present the Wellspring Cafe is one such activity. Another is to encourage and show appreciation to the teachers and staff at Menai Public School. Presently we serve a set lunch once a term for them. Recently we held two working bees, the second of which we invited the children, parents and staff to attend as we breathed new life into two schools gardens that had suffered from the recent droughts.

We are waiting and hoping to organise a festival in the community with jumping castles and rides etc. We are liasing with the community centre in Menai to reach out to those who need advocacy and support in dealing with issues of crisis or simply dealing with the complexities of with Centerlink. The C.O.A.C.H. Program is one way to achieve this.

We are a Bible believing church group and in that we are orthodox. We believe that as in the early church the believers just as Jesus did, got involved in community. Jesus was often found out there in the thick of it. He spent many hours and days reaching out to society in love and service, meeting people where their needs were.

In this way it is our hope, by gaining people's trust, we may be given the oportunity to share the Good News of the salvation and love of God in Jesus. If, however we are not able to share this news, but be of useful service, then we have accomplished something of what Jesus did when He walk upon the earth. To certain, it is our hope that all we come into contact with may hear this Good News, however WE WILL NEVER PUSH IN UNINVITED!!!
