Regenarate - Youth Ministry

Youth ministry focuses on relationships, not only because of who teenagers are but because of who God is. God is a relationship - Christian tradition uses the relational language of Father, Son and Holy Spirit to describe the persons of the Trinity - and this God's love is so generous that the Godhead alone cannot contain it. Significant relationships with other Christians matter because they teach us something about what God is like - the One who can love us in spite of ourselves and who loves us passionately enough to suffer willingly on our behalf. (Kenda Creasy Dean and Ron Foster (1998) The Godbearing Life, page 27.)

We agree that any ministry should focus on relationships. Our youth ministry called Regenerate focuses on helping young people to develop:

  • A life changing intimate and passionate relationship with God
  • Developing lifelong relationships with others in the community of faith (the church)
  • And reaching out to those who are not yet followers of Christ so that they might know the God who created them

What can I get involved with?

There are several ways you can connect with students at Greenacre Church of Christ

  • Friday night - Regenerate - Regenerate happens on Friday nights during school term and is open to any high school student (grades 7-12), we run a creative, fun, energetic program.  watch this space for more info and the program for Term 1 2010
  • Youth Cells - Our Youth Cells meeting weekly on Sunday mornings and Sunday afternoons. They are geared towards helping young people learn what it means to follow Jesus.
  • Ignite - Our Sunday night service @ 6:30pm is geared towards youth and young adults. We are working at creating a relaxed atmosphere where people are free to engage with God on different levels as well as relating to others on the journey of faith.
